David was born and raised in the central Mississippi area. Animals are something that have always fascinated David; at the age of 16 he ordered his first set of taxidermy guides on how to mount birds. After accomplishing birds, he soon went to work for a local taxidermist mounting all of his birds.
After working for this local taxidermist for 3 years he was married to Ruth Ross and opened his own taxidermy shop at his home in Florence, MS. He managed to hold a full time job and do taxidermy work at night and on the weekends.
He and Ruth had two boys, Jake and Luke, which grew up in the outdoors and doing taxidermy work. After raising both their boys David has decided to go into taxidermy work full time.
Although David held another job while doing his taxidermy work for over 30 years he still has managed to mount, on the average, of 250 deer heads a year plus any other animals that he would take in within a years time. David now has a well established business with a well known reputation of producing quality work within a reasonable amount of time.
